Traffic down nearly 15-percent at McCarran in November

Traffic at McCarran International Airport last month was down 14.7-percent compared to November of last year, according to numbers released today.
Last month 3,234,252 air passengers passed through the airport, officials said. In November 2007, 3,793,506 people arrived at or departed from McCarran.
McCarran has seen a 7.1-percent drop so far this year in the number of passengers using the airport, some 40,911,909 people through November, compared to the 44,045,838 passengers that traveled through the end of November last year.
Of the five busiest airlines that service McCarran, US Airways has seen the steepest drop of 31.4-percent compared to November of last year. In November of 2007, it had 679,820 arriving or departing passengers. Last month there were only 466,555 passengers using US Airways to make their way through McCarran.
