City to offer free bus service on New Year’s Eve

Monday, Dec. 22, 2008 | 2:49 p.m.

Party-goers headed to the Strip or downtown on New Year's Eve will have the option of free transportation.

The Regional Transportation Commission announced Monday that it will provide free bus service in the Las Vegas Valley for 24 hours starting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31 and continuing through 6 p.m. on New Year's Day.

Buses that usually run along the Strip will be rerouted to nearby streets because Las Vegas Boulevard will be closed to vehicle traffic.

For more information about bus routes and street closures, call the RTC at 228-RIDE (7433) or visit rtcsnv.com.
