Letter to the editor:

Yet more proof of the president’s arrogance

Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 | 2:02 a.m.

Just when I thought nothing more disgusting could be said by President George W. Bush, the unbelievable happened. In an interview the other day with ABC’s Martha Raddatz, Bush had to be corrected by her that there was no al-Qaida in Iraq until we invaded that country.

Here’s the exchange:

Bush: “One of the major theaters against al-Qaida turns out to have been Iraq. This is where al-Qaida said they were going to take their stand. This is where al-Qaida was hoping to take ...”

Raddatz: “But not until after the U.S. invaded.”

Bush: “Yeah, that’s right. So what?”

So what? The arrogance and audacity of this man is utterly disgraceful.

I wonder how the families of the more than 4,200 U.S. military killed feel (plus the more than 30,000 wounded).

We have 33 more days under this current disreputable and dishonest administration. It will take well over the first year under President Barack Obama to put even a small dent in the extremely large pile of problems he will inherit. So we all must be patient. I implore all the journalists and commentators/pundits (especially Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh) to give him a chance.

I truly hope (and sort of predict) all letters in the future will be positive ones.
