Note: Current boundaries are outlined in green. Proposed boundaries are colored.

A Clark County School District panel Dec. 9 approved a proposal to change the Wilbur and Theresa Faiss and Lawrence and Heidi Canarelli middle school zoning boundaries, affecting about 130 students.

The students live within the Canarelli zone, north of Blue Diamond Road and west of Durango Drive. They would move to Faiss.

Several changes are occurring in the area because of a new elementary school scheduled to open next fall. Changes to the Canarelli and Faiss zones would maintain feeder school alignment. They would provide minor relief to Faiss, currently 32 percent under capacity.

No parents attended the Dec. 9 meeting to discuss the potential changes. A public input meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Jan. 13 at Durango High School, 7100 W. Dewey Drive, to provide parents with another opportunity to speak with the Attendance Zone Advisory Commission.
