Letter to the editor:
Big bucks behind blather found on talk radio
Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 | 2:04 a.m.
The Las Vegas Sun published a good letter to the editor Wednesday from Zeke O’Leary, regarding “talk show” radio hosts Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, Laura Ingraham and others. The letter writer suggests that people stop listening to these radio hosts, who aggressively criticize our president–elect, for the next seven weeks. I agree, but I also would like to share my philosophy on these humorous entertainers.
The money is in “right wing” radio and that is why they are in “right wing” radio. They are entertainers and they know that their audience, ultimately, pays the bill. They “follow the money.” If the sponsors of political radio talk shows leaned heavily to the “left,” so would they.
The next time you listen to any of these entrepreneurs, pay attention to how easy it would be for them to change their arguments from the “right” to the “left.” Simply put the word “Republican” in where they now blast Democrats and they would continue on with their bull almost without hesitation.
The only commitment they have to their views is that their views allow them to laugh all the way to the bank.

There is a big market for people who want to listen to "right" radio.
There is a smaller market for people who want to listen to "left" radio.
We could be like in Russia where they just go around and shut down any station that does speak what the ruling elite wants.
The left seems to love people like Castro. Castro is not a believer in democracy. He would just shut down "right" radio, too. The left seems to also want to shut down "right" radio, too. Perhaps, the left are not true believers in democracy either.
