Boulder City High senior Caiti Forrester signs a letter of intent to play basketball at Colorado State-Pueblo.
Boulder City High senior Caiti Forrester will continue her basketball career at Colorado State-Pueblo.
Forrester signed and national letter of intent with the school on Nov. 15.
"It's such a relief. I'm so excited to get it done," Forrester said.
She was also recruited by St. Mary's, Northern Arizona and UNLV.
"I wasn't sure if a Division II school was what I wanted, but it was just perfect. I couldn't find anything wrong with it," she said.
Playing college basketball is a family tradition for the Forresters. Her father, Ed Forrester, played for Boise State.
"I'm excited to keep the tradition going," Caiti Forrester said.
The four-year varsity performer averaged 15 points per game and eight rebounds per game as a junior.
"We are all proud of what Caiti has accomplished here. It's great that she's going to get an opportunity to play at the next level, and I believe she'll be successful there as well," Boulder City coach Brian Lemmel said.
Boulder City started the season on Dec. 2 at River Valley, Ariz., and Forrester said signing early will help her focus on playing.
"I can just go have fun, but of course I don't want to go out and finish with bad stats as I'm getting ready to go play in college," she said.
Forrester said she'll be playing small forward in college and plans to work on developing that position during the high school season.
