Owner of pit bulls that mauled horses appeals euthanization
Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008 | 3:09 p.m.
The owner of two pit bulls that officials say mauled to death one horse and critically injured another on Thanksgiving morning has appealed part of Clark County's decision to euthanize both dogs.
While Clark County spokesman Dan Kulin said additional information cannot be provided as the case is currently under investigation, he confirmed today that the attack occurred around 7 a.m. Thursday on the 8000 block of Rancho Destino Road.
Kulin said both dogs have since been declared vicious by Clark County Animal Control.
The owner of the pit bulls has appealed that declaration for only one of the dogs, Kulin said. The other dog will be put down.
A hearing to consider the owner's appeal will take place within the next 45 days, he said.
Until that time, the dog will remain at a shelter, he said.

This guys animal could have killed a person! I can't believe they let him make an appeal. What about the property his animal destroyed is he gonna pay for the damages?
The owner should catch a bullet too.
pit bulls owners are as disgusting and ugly as the dogs themselves.
People that own pit bulls believe that they have the right to own aggressive dogs that maul or kill others
They take pleasure in the fact that their dogs hurt people and other animals. It's why they get and have these dogs.
Take a look at http://www.dogsbite.org
This kind of thing is happening every day.
Until there are some regulations and requirements for special care of pit bulls, and punishments for not following the rules, the death and attacks will go on.
If these dogs get returned, next time it will probably be a person that dies.
As long as there are no rules or laws, these pit bull owners will continue to do this.
The question in this case is, what was the pit bull owner doing with the pit bulls. What is going on? Is this a breeding operation?
