Letter to the Editor:
What I would ask the candidates
Sat, Aug 23, 2008 (2:01 a.m.)
I need a little help from your publication. Because neither presidential candidate will come to Las Vegas to have the kind of open forum we all want to host, I am hoping you could pass along the questions I would have asked.
First, as president, will you support or impede the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump? Second, as president, will you support states’ rights to have regulated gaming, including college sports wagering? And third, as president, will you support or fight “The Employee Free Choice Act”?
All the other issues, such as gay marriage and abortion, don’t affect my life as much as these can help or hurt my wallet. Besides, neither candidate really has the moral high ground anyway.
I would like to ask these important questions to the candidates myself, but because they are both too busy making attack ads, I’ll just hope they will respond to you. Oh, and one more thing: Tell them that only people with IQs below 80 believe those attack ads.
