Law enforcement wave to crack down on drunk drivers

Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2008 | 10:02 a.m.

With Labor Day and parties celebrating the end of summer, law enforcement agencies across the Las Vegas Valley are banding together to crack down on drunk drivers for the next two weeks.

A semi-annual "Over the Limit, Under Arrest" campaign officially kicks off Friday and runs through Labor Day. Officers from all Clark County law enforcement agencies will participate, adding enforcement officers on the streets and highways each day, every day.

Law enforcement officials stress that partygoers need to designate a driver.

Police officers and Nevada Highway Patrol troopers also stress the need for defensive driving every time anyone gets behind the wheel of a car.
