Suspect sought in attempted kidnapping of teen
Fri, Aug 8, 2008 (10:42 a.m.)
Henderson police are seeking a man who is about 25 years old who approached a 16-year-old girl as she walked in a residential area near Trail Canyon Park on July 27.
The girl spotted a white 1990s model two-door Honda Civic stopping next to her near American Pacific Drive and Trail Canyon Road, said Todd Rasmussen, spokesman for the Henderson Police Department.
The car's driver yelled at the girl and asked her to get in the car, Rasmussen said. The teenager refused and started to walk away.
The car followed her, then stopped. The driver got out of the car, ran up to the girl and grabbed her shirt, attempting to pull her toward the vehicle, Rasmussen said.
The girl kicked the man and was able to run away.
Police said the Honda's front bumper was damaged with a dent the size of a bowling ball. The man is described as 5-foot-10, 200 pounds with a shaved head and a large round nose. He did not have any facial hair, noticeable scars or tattoos, police said.
The man's clothing was described as a black T-shirt with a white T-shirt underneath where the sleeves were rolled up, showing the white T-shirt. The man was also wearing dark denim jeans.
Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact the Henderson Police Department at 267-4750.
