Police arrest chop shop owner

Metro Police have arrested the owner of a chop shop after discovering several intact stolen vehicles and parts removed from other stolen and dismantled vehicles in North Las Vegas.

Officers served a search warrant at the Juarez Tire Shop, 5145 E. Cheyenne Ave., on Thursday, police said.

Police recovered the stolen vehicles and parts, and questioned 10 employees at the business.

Owner Sabas Pena has been arrested on three counts of stolen vehicles, one count of operating a chop shop, one count possession of stolen property described as a firearm and two counts of a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

Police said the investigation into the business is ongoing. Anyone with information about this case or other cases involving stolen vehicles or vehicle parts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 385-5555 or Metro's Auto Theft Detail at 828-3586.

  1. Is this upstanding member of the society a legal resident? or a recent transplant from arizona after the the passage of prop 300??
