A MOMENT CAPTURED:
New model finds confidence to take to the catwalk
Sunday, April 6, 2008 | 2 a.m.
Georgia Vaughan waits to take the catwalk during a Halloween costumes fashion show at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Lisa Griffin, creative coordinator for Leg Avenue, a hosiery and lingerie company, goofs off with a makeup artist backstage.
“Everybody calls me the newbie,” says Vaughan, 20, of Las Vegas, who’s been modeling for a month.
But beauty is in her genes. Her mother and grandmother were both models.
“I think by growing up around it and seeing how fun of an industry it is, it’s something I wanted to do too,” she says. “But I was a big dork up until I left high school ... You have to be confident.”
