Letter: Why we should get rid of income tax

Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 | 7:20 a.m.

The "income tax" is an immoral tax on wages and salaries. Wages and salaries are not "income" per se ; they are a pure exchange of your knowledge, skills and abilities for money. There is no profit (also known as "income") in this exchange.

There is not one Nevada politician who has the leadership, integrity and guts to put a stop to this immorality and abomination. Not one.

If you want things to change, you need to stop voting for incumbent politicians and usual suspects, and start voting to elect people with some sense of morality, honesty and integrity.

The current representatives of both parties have proven over and over that they lack these qualities of leadership. They need to be dumped at the earliest election, and let's put people in office who are new, who are inexperienced and fresh, who have the integrity and the will to stand up for getting rid of this immoral yoke called "income tax" on wages and salaries.

We're tired of the status quo, we're tired of being lied to by the incumbents, we're fed up with paying an immoral tax and playing the federal Ponzi game called "Social Security tax," which is just another immoral tax for which Congress lied again and will not keep its original contract and promises.
