Don't tell 81-year-old actor, singer, songwriter and voice coach David London that he's too old for anything - especially romance.

The Las Vegas fixture of 50-plus years recently released his first CD, "Here's to Romance," which includes 10 original love songs and is backed by some of Las Vegas' best musicians, including pianist Vinnie Falcone and guitarist Joe Lano. For information about the CD , visit david-london.com.

London and his wife , Alma, recently hosted a release party at Carluccio's Tivoli Gardens Italian restaurant , which is adjacent to the Liberace Museum. London came to Las Vegas in 1955 to be a backup singer for Liberace.

London was married to comic Susan Austin for more than 30 years , and he put his career on hold to manage hers. She died in 1995. He and his current wife, Alma, have been married for five years.

London, usually seen in ship captain's garb, wrote, directed and produced numerous shows in Las Vegas including "Love Over Forty." He has appeared on Broadway in eight musicals, including "The Most Happy Fella", "110 in the Shade" and "Carousel." He has performed with the likes of Phyllis Diller, Joan Rivers and Sammy Davis Jr.

London is also a renowned vocal coach, who has trained stars such as Eddie Fisher, Pia Zadora and Marilyn Monroe. Early in Monroe's career he coached her in the singing of a breathless "Happy Birthday," which years later she sang for President John F. Kennedy.
