Letter: No matter war’s course, we’ll honor sacrifice
Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2007 | 7:37 a.m.
We hear that soldiers who have fought and been killed in Iraq or Afghanistan gave their lives for nothing if we pull out now. Nothing could be further from the truth.
None of us gets out of this life alive. Why do anything at all when it comes right down to it? It is because we have to do what we think is right at the time we do it. I am not certain there has ever been a war that was "right."
Even if we stay the course, we may not prevail. But I am certain that all of our military personnel will continue to be honored no matter whether we decide to go ahead fighting or pull out.
