Letter: President doesn’t care about Americans
Friday, Sept. 7, 2007 | 7:29 a.m.
In a recent speech while President Bush was in Iraq, he said that America will not abandon the Iraqi people. He will not abandon the Iraqi people, but he has clearly abandoned the American people.
He has abandoned the Hurricane Katrina victims. Thousands are still living in FEMA trailers waiting for help.
Senior citizens are still having to choose between buying food or prescription medicines. Thousands of our wounded soldiers have not received proper medical care or have been denied benefits.
Bush wants people to obtain private insurance . But not only is that very expensive, if you have a pre existing condition you will probably be denied the insurance even if you could afford it.
Social Security is going bankrupt while billions of our tax dollars are spent for Bush's war. Our jobs are being outsourced overseas and illegal aliens are taking over our jobs in the United States. Workers are putting money into their 401(k)s only to see their savings dwindle away.
While George and Laura are planning their daughter's wedding, families of fallen soldiers in Iraq are planning funerals. If Bush is so concerned about the Iraqi people, why doesn't he resign and become president of Iraq?
