Letter: Wasted water runs through valley daily

Regarding the Las Vegas Sun's Oct. 26 story, "A harsher reality ahead - as officials tend to the supply side, experts say we'll have to use a lot less water":

As I drive to work in the early morning I am constantly amazed at the small rivers running along the side of the road. There are broken or misdirected sprinkler heads and timers that substantially exceed the recommended watering lengths.

Since this problem is so serious, why aren't we looking for these culprits in those early hours when the offenses occur?
