Letter: Red-led states get swifter response

Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 | 7:16 a.m.

The difference between the federal government's response to national natural disasters is all too clear:

Louisiana, which had a Democratic governor, is still waiting for help after two years.

California, with a Republican governor, is visited twice by the president in five days with immediate help on the way.

Perhaps now that Louisiana has a Republican governor-elect that state will get a bone or two thrown its way.
