Letter: Democrats abandon Kennedy’s message

Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007 | 7:17 a.m.

President John F. Kennedy, in his January 1961 inaugural address, stated: "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country.''

Apparently , the Democratic Party has completely abandoned this esteemed statement provided by, in my opinion, the best Democratic president in recent history.

The abandonment of Kennedy's message is being promoted by the left wing of the Democratic Party and is designed to make the citizenry of this country entirely dependent upon central government. At some point the approach to complete government control will create such a burden that our entire society will suffer in many ways: monetarily, morally and whatever other deficiencies which may be brought about.

Perhaps the moderate faction of the Democratic Party will realize, in time, to stop this wrong-way progression.
