Letter: President gets blamed too much
Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007 | 7:13 a.m.
Sens. Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and Christopher Dodd , instead of doing anything constructive, are spinning the truth or telling outright lies about global warming, the National Guard and the war in Iraq.
Reid blames the current administration for global warming. I suppose he forgets that 95 senators voted against the Kyoto accord years before President Bush went into office.
Boxer forgets that the states control the National Guard when it is at home, not the president. And Boxer, who blamed the shortage of National Guard personnel and supplies, apparently forgets there is ample Guard presence and equipment for the California fire disaster.
Dodd is clueless, simply clueless. The fires in California have nothing to do with Iraq and for him to blame anyone for that problem is inane unless he blames the environmentalists and arsonists.
The problem is , these people are elected to govern, not carp. They are not elected to backbite anyone.
Also, look at Louisiana. They finally get a new governor, a Republican who will act as a first responder. Maybe Sens. Reid, Boxer and Dodd will get the hint. Do your job or get out of the kitchen.
