Letter: GOP dumps family values by keeping Craig
Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 | 7:14 a.m.
What's up with Idaho? For a red state whose politicians act as if they have cornered the market on family values, I remind you , actions always speak louder than words. If I hear Republicans say one more time that they are the party of family values, I might puke.
If they had real family values they would run that joke of a senator, Larry Craig, out of office.
Here are the facts:
1. Craig, while at the Minneapolis-St.Paul airport, says there was a piece of toilet paper behind his feet that he was trying to pick up. Now I ask , how many of you would reach behind a toilet seat in a public restroom to pick up a piece of toilet paper? Fat chance.
2. Craig says his foot touched the officer's foot in the next stall by accident. I assure you, my foot has never touched the foot of the person in the next stall, ever.
3. One never pleads guilty if he isn't.
Now that Craig has a fancy lawyer, guess what their defense is - blame it on the cop who arrested him. This poor cop must have had a personal vendetta against the good senator. What a bunch of baloney!
If we are going to go down that road of blaming the police, then take all the cops out of all the bathroom stings everywhere. But don't cry about it if some pervert in a stall molests a little boy.
