Letter: Commentators offer extraordinary insight
Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007 | 7:15 a.m.
The commentary pages in Tuesday's Las Vegas Sun were excellent, superb and well done. Thank you for publishing such eloquence in so many areas: Maureen Dowd and Stephen Colbert's column was funny but true. Columnists Thomas Friedman and Paul Krugman gave Al Gore the praise he so richly deserves.
Regarding Andy Zelleke's commentary, "America is no longer as special as it once was," I have thought this for some time and I am glad, if sad, that someone printed it. The U.S. is far closer to being a Third World country than I ever thought it would be. But we still have many fine, intelligent people who continue to try to stimulate us to be more active and take back our country from Bush & Cheney Inc.
I take the Las Vegas Review-Journal because I want to know what my enemies are doing/saying. I am pleased to get the Las Vegas Sun, too, so I can receive the truth in print that I know is trustworthy.
