Letter: Counting the days until Bush is gone
Monday, Oct. 15, 2007 | 7:23 a.m.
Bad news first. King George did it again - he vetoed a children's health insurance program which would have brought insurance to millions of low-income children because he believes a few higher income kids may benefit also. Why help the millions, when we can blame it on the few - especially since he wants the money to fight his war in Iraq. (Maybe if he was told it was medical insurance for poor Iraqi kids he would sign?)
Now the good news. Be of good faith, for as of today, there are only 463 days left in the reign of King George. Heaven only knows the trouble he can single-handedly cause in that time, but his time is running out.
Also please note that more Republican senators and members of the House are announcing retirement - they don't want to go down with the sinking ship that King George is steering (and you think the Titanic had trouble, wait till you see the Republicans after election day November 2008). Not that King George cares about the Republicans - he is not running, so it is not his concern.
