So five out of the 13 regents thought it was a neat idea to arm teachers on campus? The idea, from soon-to-be Las Vegas City Council candidate Stavros Anthony, a police captain, was to get the teachers trained and then give them guns. You see, this might prevent what happened at Virginia Tech by scaring off any gunmen who might want to come onto campus. Knowing that the English Lit prof might be packing surely would deter the student driven insane by being forced to read "Ulysses" from cover to cover from losing his mind and bringing in an Uzi. With that bunch, I am actually surprised the idea failed. What's next? A more modest proposal, perhaps: Arming the regents so they don't have to put up with Jim Rogers anymore?
