This month Henderson will hand over the city manager 's reins to Mary Kay Peck, the assistant city manager and a 12-year city employee .
He says he's ready; will he die tonight?
CARSON CITY - On Nevada's Death Row, Jimmy Neuschafer was the master of delays - and gastronomical gamesmanship.
LOOKING IN ON: EDUCATION
David Clementson, a student at Sandy Miller Elementary School, had no trouble picking his favorite teacher.
As district changes, so do Porter's votes
Last year Republican Rep. Jon Porter proudly allied himself with President Bush . . . But the November election changed all that, as voter unrest with the Iraq war and Republicans' domestic agenda propelled a Democratic wave across the nation.
WEEK IN REVIEW: CLARK COUNTY
There are basically two ways to chip away at the county hospital's ever-present financial losses - cut spending or boost revenues.
LOOKING IN ON: ENTERTAINMENT
Good news for Vinnie Favorito fans: the insult comic has signed on for another year at O'Sheas, the sliver of a casino that's shoehorned between the Flamingo and the Imperial Palace.
Letter: Looking forward to Gore's future good works
The long term damage the Bush administration has done is tragic and incalculable. Whatever respect or admiration America enjoyed worldwide is now trashed for decades to come. THE OPENING LINE
When Sun sports guru Ron Kantowski asked me to write about being a Colorado Rockies fan, he added that I was the only Rockies fan he knew. It's a little like being told, "You're the second-best writer I know, but everybody else is tied for first."
Letter: Counting the days until Bush is gone
Now the good news. Be of good faith, for as of today, there are only 463 days left in the reign of King George. Heaven only knows the trouble he can single-handedly cause in that time, but his time is running out.
Editorial: A federal responsibility
Collecting taxes is a job for the Internal Revenue Service, which is accountable to Congress for the actions of its agents. It is not clear who, if anybody, supervises private collectors.
Editorial: Trashing a 12-year-old
The boy, who spoke last month in the Democratic response to the president's weekly radio address, has become the poster child of the State Children's Health Insurance Program - and a target of vicious right-wing attacks.
