Letter: Reid fights good fight for people of Nevada
Saturday, Oct. 6, 2007 | 1:40 a.m.
I would like to thank Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada for his stance against the coal plants in the Ely area. I thought Jon Ralston's column "Sierra Power's head honcho is taking on Reid over renewables " was a fair and balanced commentary.
I think Michael Yackira, chief executive of Nevada Power's parent company, Sierra Pacific Resources, is in it only for the money. Sen. Reid is a public official who actually cares for the residents of Nevada. The people of Nevada need to thank Sen. Reid for his commitment to the environment and for his commitment to the health and well-being of Nevada's residents.
