Wranglers add name to roster - make it a double
When Peter Ferraro and the future Jennifer Ferraro were mulling over the honeymoon plans, she picked Hawaii as the place where she'd spend her first days as a wife.
FLASHPOINT for Oct 06, 2007
Not since another Nevada senator advised Philippine strongman Ferdinand Marcos to "cut and cut cleanly" has a member of the Club of 100 so brutally advised someone to abdicate. But John Ensign's "he should do the right thing and keep his word" statement about Larry Craig's pledge to resign brings to mind Paul Laxalt's admonition of yore. It looks as if the promise-keeping junior senator is being influenced by the other half of Harry Ensign - the utter ruthlessness of Ensign's statements are redolent of Harry Reid. Reid must be so proud. Ensign continues to insist that it's because of ...
'Green' at what price to Nevadans?
The casino companies and the developers get tax breaks worth at least $500 million and their buildings come with lower power and water bills. Nevada citizens get some environmentally friendly buildings.
TAKE FIVE: MANNY PACQUIAO VS. MARCO ANTONIO BARRERA, 'WILL TO WIN'

REID'S WILY POWER PLAY
From utility executives to environmentalists to politicians, everyone agrees that renewable energy will play a major role in Nevada's future.
Editorial: Mind over matter?
Scientists at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago suggest the type of personality one has might be a key defense against Alzheimer's. The researchers said a study of 997 priests, nuns and brothers indicates that those who saw themselves as conscientious, disciplined achievers were significantly less likely to get Alzheimer's disease. Surprisingly, some of those people had brain lesions consistent with Alzheimer's but did not suffer from dementia.
Letter: Reid fights good fight for people of Nevada
I think Michael Yackira, chief executive of Nevada Power's parent company, Sierra Pacific Resources, is in it only for the money. Sen. Reid is a public official who actually cares for the residents of Nevada. The people of Nevada need to thank Sen. Reid for his commitment to the environment and for his commitment to the health and well-being of Nevada's residents.
Letter: Government serves people, not vice versa
I sincerely do not understand why President Bush is still in office. He has absolutely no regard for our country, only himself and his selfish dreams.
Letter: Who can blame Iran for being paranoid?
If the circumstances were reversed, and Iran tried to do what we did to them then and now, our president would be a little nutty also. But for the right reasons. It will take diplomacy, not name-calling, to solve this mess that our power-hungry politicians basically created in the first place.
Editorial: Tracking deadly cargo
The Government Accountability Office, the investigative arm of Congress, prepared the report for a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing conducted Thursday.
Editorial: Are we still torturing?
The newspaper also reported that the legal opinions - provided to the CIA - remain in effect today.
She tells it her way
Frank Sinatra liked to spoon with her, and other Rat Packers also enjoyed her company in the bedroom.
Letter: Government health care could save us money
Let me remind the president that we already have government health care systems in place and they have been accepted by the public. They are Medicare, Medicaid and the VA for the veterans. I don't believe the president or the Congress (mainly the Republicans) are going to eliminate these plans because they are "socialized medicine."
