Letter: America elected a terrible leader
Friday, Oct. 5, 2007 | 7:27 a.m.
I just finished reading Thomas E. Petika's Oct. 3 letter, "President has every right to speak for us." I have to agree with Mr. Petika in that , by electing him president , we have given him that right. This is where my agreement ends, however.
Mr. Petika goes on to say (about President Bush) that he "is the most informed official in our country," "he is intelligent and has a high moral standard," and "he has every right to make a judgment or criticism about world affairs."
I have to wonder, where has Mr. Petika been living for the past six years?
President Bush is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the most ignorant person to ever hold that job. He is self-serving, ignores the Constitution and has brought our great country to the brink of financial disaster. Intelligent? He couldn't even spell the word. High moral standard? He doesn't know the meaning of morality.
What puzzles me is why there has not been a serious move to impeach both President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. I'm not sure our country can survive the remainder of President Bush's term and still recover from the chaos he has caused in all areas. God help us!
