A beautiful story! Kudos to Tiffany Brown's Nov. 22 photo column, "America the Beautiful," about Gloria Hammond.
My skin just crawls when I see Hispanics waving a Mexican flag at a rally here in the United States, speaking in Spanish, singing our anthem in Spanish, and demanding citizens rights. If they want to keep their heritage alive, they can go back to their own countries to do so.
But I'll welcome Ms. Hammond, an immigrant from Chile, with open arms. She's learned to speak English and knows how to respect what we Americans hold dear.
Well done, Gloria. Welcome to the USA.
