Letter: Some things worse than waterboarding
Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2007 | 7:23 a.m.
I have to respond to Bob Coffman's Nov. 13 letter to the editor, "Mukasey wrong on waterboarding."
I really hope that Mr. Coffman is right and our enemies do start waterboarding our citizens when they are abducted. It is better than having their heads cut off, tongues cut out, eyes gouged out or being burned alive, which are many of the techniques now used by our enemies. I think waterboarding would be much better.
When will people like Mr. Coffman realize we are not dealing with a civilized enemy and no amount of compassion from us will change them, as only they can change themselves?
