Its official: Gov. Jim Gibbons is off the endangered list. No, the Review-Journal doesnt have a bogus poll to support their guy. I am talking about the national radar screen. In a piece last week, Washington Post political writer Chris Cillizza, as pundits are wont to do, looked way ahead to the 2010 gubernatorial landscape. And Cillizza listed several states where there might be competitive races and then listed the five most competitive races. Not once in the piece do the words Nevada or Gibbons appear. He is home free, folks. Of course, there may be another reason that Cillizza left the guy with the 30 percent positive rating off his list: The Democrats have no candidate yet (it is early) or too many potential candidates.
