States Following California’s Standard

Here are the states that have adopted or are considering adopting California's tougher auto emission standards. Also listed are those planning to join the state's lawsuit against the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, which was filed Thursday.
The 11 other states that have adopted California's standard are: Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
The five states in which governors have said they plan to adopt the standard are: Arizona, Colorado, Florida, New Mexico and Utah.
Illinois has said it will join California's lawsuit but has not committed to adopting the state's auto emission standard. Other states that plan to join the lawsuit against the federal government are Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington.
