FLASHPOINT for Nov 01, 2007

What do first lady Dawn Gibbons and O.J. Simpson have in common? No, Gibbons was never accused of killing her spouse, although she may have considered it around Oct. 13, 2006. Nor has the first lady ever been accused of busting into a hotel room to recover sports memorabilia. But Simpson escaped from a criminal trial, where he did not have to testify, while being badly damaged in a subsequent civil trial. So, too, the first lady may escape any embarrassment not testifying in the trial of a Reno homeopath whose services she once sought. But I understand that no matter the outcome of the Reno trial - and one count has been dismissed already - the doctor plans a civil action. If he follows through, the first lady will be deposed. Oh, to be a fly on that wall.
