Sometimes timing is everything. And sometimes timing is coincidental. And sometimes it's both - or is it? Such were my thoughts as I saw an MGM Mirage lobbyist present lawmakers with a letter late last week in the middle of the controversy over whether major companies, such as MGM Mirage, would be able to keep tens of millions in tax breaks for "green" buildings. What could this letter say? It was a reminder of how diverse the company is, as demonstrated at last week's annual company event. MGM Mirage has been a local pioneer on that front, but it also couldn't have hurt the company's image as it was struggling to clutch that tax break for CityCenter. And, by the way, CityCenter will have a lot of minorities. Coincidentally.
