Did you see the battle of the G-men last week? Oscar Goodman vs. Jim Gibbons? Never has a war of words between two of the highest - profile pols in this state exposed so much. The mayor's ability to chew scenery and ignore reality vs. the governor's ability to chew reality and ignore scenery. Goodman went after Gibbons at a Convention Authority meeting, claiming Gibbons hadn't talked to anyone before proposing his plan to pilfer room-tax money. He risibly called the governor "rude" - Oscar Goodman calling someone rude? That's funny. Gibbons tried to argue - he had called some people but not Goodman - but only told part of the story and seemed to continue to disregard the inevitable death of his proposal in Carson City. But good theater it was.
