Letter: Taking care of U.S. should be top priority
Sunday, May 27, 2007 | 7:13 a.m.
What is the matter with President Bush, the liar? One of our military commanders recently said our soldiers in Iraq are serving their country and helping the Iraqi people. Have Bush and his ilk possibly noticed that we've been having some problems here - at home?
Bring all American soldiers home! We need them to fight the effects of wildfires, floods, blizzards, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. They could come home and rebuild New Orleans. They could have been home to assist police during this year's "May Day" marches.
They could assist in catching criminals when they scurry to California or slither "home" to Mexico. At the very least they could build that Tex-Mex wall. They could assist in deporting illegal immigrants with their obligatory anchor babies (we wouldn't want to be accused of splitting up families).
Regarding amnesty: If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck and walks like a duck, it's still amnesty. Amnesty will never work. Illegals will never sign up to pay and be deported. Employers who hire illegals will never admit to knowing they are illegals.
End the Iraq war. Bring our soldiers home. Take care of this country . Americans live here.
