Letter: Grim consequences for taking rural water

I had a glimpse of the future and it's not pretty. A recent early morning visit to the produce section of a 24-hour grocery store, open during remodeling, was jolting. Many produce bins were empty.

What green vegetables were there looked limp, old, dry and unappetizing. Fruit choices were sparse. I was not able to find anything that I was willing to buy. The automatic produce watering system was off and foods had not been replenished.

Is this a preview of life ahead for White Pine County, a legacy from decision makers in Southern Nevada who continue to cater to developers without a care in the world?
