Letter: Let’s be wiser when picking next president
Wednesday, May 16, 2007 | 7:15 a.m.
At the end of 2008, we will have endured eight years of the Bush administration. George W. Bush is a man uniquely unfit for the presidency. A chief executive of Mr. Bush's quality would have been fired by the board of directors in the real corporate world.
Soon we will be facing another cycle of elections, the presidential primaries and general election. We will again have to tolerate another round of " Swift Boat" and "Rovian" smear ads toward one candidate or other.
Finding the best leader should be our primary concern, so please, please, let's use our independent minds and our God-given intellects to pick the right leader this time around, Republican or Democrat.
Honor and respect your religious leaders, but leave your Bibles at home and in your churches. Do not bring them with you to the polls when you vote.
For starters, the nine points illustrated in Lee Iacocca's new book, "Where Have All the Leaders Gone?" would be a good primer selecting our next leader of the free world.
