Letter: A U.S. president must be able to face facts

At the recent Republican presidential candidates "debate," three of those on stage (Tom Tancredo, Sam Brownback and Mike Huckabee) indicated that they did not believe in evolution.
That is a terrible statement about the way things are, that people who repudiate the foundation of modern biological science can be considered realistic candidates for the highest office in the land.
These people are out of touch with reality and cannot be trusted to properly make the critical decisions they would be required to make were they to occupy that office.
