Letter: Maybe Friedman should run for office
Saturday, May 5, 2007 | 7 a.m.
Thomas Friedman's May 3 column, "What Bush should say to the world," is so right on.
I would suggest to every reader of the Las Vegas Sun to cut that column out and mail it to President Bush and/or Vice President Cheney.
But first make a copy of it and send it to every candidate running for president. Better yet, Mr. Friedman should give a class on the Middle East to every candidate who wants to be president. It should be mandatory.
Mr. Friedman's perspective on the Middle East has always been right on, from 9/11 to right now. Common sense, which eludes politicians today, can be found in the heart and mind of Mr. Friedman.
No, maybe every reader, after he cuts and sends, should start a petition to have Mr. Friedman run for president in whatever party he wants. The world will be saddled with the Middle East problems for years and years to come, and with Mr. Friedman's knowledge, he's the one I want.
