Letter: Airplane noise is the sound of success
Wednesday, May 2, 2007 | 7:15 a.m.
I t makes me laugh when I hear the outrage emanating from our more affluent members in northwest Las Vegas regarding the increased air traffic in their airspace. I find this funny because those with money always seem so incensed that something may not actually go their way.
The most interesting aspect of this situation is that the people who live in the northwest tend to make more money than the average Joe, which means they are benefiting the most from the local economy. There is an interesting disconnect here don't you think?
The people who benefit most from the literally millions of tourists the airport brings to town are enraged that the planes bearing their very livelihoods are flying overhead? Whenever I hear complaints on the news all I can think is "deal with it."
There are plenty of us in the valley who have more important things to worry about. These people have the nerve to complain that planes are flying over their quasi-mansions? I'd love to have their problem.
