Letter: Credit Giuliani for his leadership
Friday, March 30, 2007 | 7:14 a.m.
In response to James Poupard's March 27 letter questioning Rudy Giuliani's title as hero: He is correct. The former mayor of New York is not a hero, but a leader.
The mayor and his administration inherited a city in chaos. His administration went forward making the city safer, cleaner and more law-abiding. Sept. 11 was a prime example of his ability to take a disaster and guide it through to a successful finish. He also made New York City livable again. I know, I resided there.
As to his private life, can 50 percent of us stand muster to what the public thinks we should be? Look at his record as mayor and as a U.S. attorney. If this search was done on all politicians, your elected officials would be of a much better caliber.
I don't know whom I am going to vote for, but I will be looking at what he or she has done .
