Letter: What makes Giuliani a hero?
Tuesday, March 27, 2007 | 7:30 a.m.
I am not the smartest man on Earth, so would someone enlighten me as to why presidential hopeful Rudy Giuliani is being called a "hero"?
If he is being called a hero for what he did after Sept. 11, then he owes his hero status to Osama bin Laden.
I can't, for the life of me, see what he did that any mayor in America wouldn't have done in the same circumstances. Calm the constituents? What is heroic about that?
He didn't race into the inferno like the real heroes - the Fire Department of New York did. He didn't climb up several steps to rescue old ladies from the fires. So how can we call Giuliani a hero? Beats me.
While on the subject of Giuliani, will the religious right support him?
