Letter: If war is so important, let Halliburton fund it

Last week the light shined out of Congress with the passage of legislation that would require most U.S. troops in Iraq to be sent home by next year, a historic victory for the majority of the people of the United States.
Unfortunately, the man who sits in the White House has belligerently stated he will veto the bill.
The question then remains is this: What happens?
My suggestion is that if Mr. Bush wants to fund his war, he should go his backers who are profiting from Gulf War II: Halliburton, which is planning to take its corporate headquarters out of the country!
Let Halliburton underwrite the war. With all the padding of its statements, it has lots of extra money to throw around.
It is obvious the White House cares more about the Iraqi people, and their "good life," than it does about the welfare of our noble soldiers.
