FLASHPOINT for Mar 25, 2007

Sunday, March 25, 2007 | 7:17 a.m.

What if they held an election and no one came? Hasn't any- one seen those commercials with government actor Oscar Goodman urging everyone to vote, even if it's not for the world's happiest mayor? More than 3,000 of the city's 200,000-plus registered voters have taken advantage of early voting so far. Does this mean many voters wouldn't listen to the most popular mayor in the universe when he tells them to cast their votes? Well, of course it is early. I am sure that many, many more voters will go to the polls in the next week and on April 3. By the time the votes are tallied, I am sure that a huge cross section of the valley's voters will be making these decisions. You know, like maybe 8 percent. A mandate, I tell you.
