Letter: Daylight-saving time is light on savings
Tuesday, March 13, 2007 | 7:16 a.m.
Why do we call it daylight-saving time? What am I saving on? I know my utility bills are higher during daylight-saving time.
Since I wake up early I will be forced to use more energy because of the early start to daylight-saving time. So what that the sun sets an hour later? It just means I will have to run my air conditioning an hour longer, especially if forecasts about this week's warm temperatures come true.
What about the kids who walk to school? This will be especially critical if we have a gloomy early November morning, because it won't be getting light until 7:30 or later. I'd like to know which members of Congress voted for this bill. They sure won't be getting my vote.
