FLASHPOINT for Mar 10, 2007
Saturday, March 10, 2007 | 7:14 a.m.
Welcome to the game, son of Bob. Ross Miller, the ex-gover- nor's son and new secretary of state, entered the political hurly-burly this week when he questioned Gov. Jim Gibbons' disclosure of his legal defense fund. You could predict the trajectory from there: The partisans are unleashed, and Miller is pilloried as a hack looking to score points. This will inevitably happen when a constitutional officer of a different party is seen as going after another constitutional officer. Miller handled the questioning of the governor well - subtle but tough. Now comes the hard part: Deciding how to proceed once Gibbons answers and not being rankled by the cries of partisanship. Ask Dad, who went through a political war or two.
