David Spade doesn't slow down.
The former cast member of "Saturday Night Live" (1990-96) starred in the long-running TV series "Just Shoot Me" and in several movies.
Now he's starring in two series, "Rules of Engagement" on CBS, which follows "Two and a Half Men" on Monday nights, and "The Showbiz Show" on Comedy Central, which starts its third season March 15.
He just sold a screenplay, which he must now write.
He still squeezes in a little stand-up comedy. Spade will be performing at the Mirage tonight and Saturday.
And, of course, there's golf.
The Sun caught up with him by phone from the set of "The Showbiz Show."
1. On his busy schedule
"Today I'm doing a sketch about Tyra Banks and so I'm dressed like Tyra as we speak. She goes undercover - like a fat person, a homeless person, someone like that - so I'm going undercover as her. We have 13 more of these shows to do this season.
"And I'm working on 'Rules of Engagement.' We've aired four shows and have three more airings. It's a new sitcom, just started, and I hear it's the highest-rated new comedy show. They'll let us know if we will come back in the fall, but it looks very promising. Ratingswise we're doing better than they expected, so they're happy and I'm happy.
2. On stand-up in Las Vegas
"I like stand-up. It's the only place you don't have a boss. And I like the Mirage. It's just a fun show for me, a fun weekend for me in Las Vegas. I go to Shadow Creek and golf; basically it's just good for me and my buddy to go up there. I always wind up having people in town who want to come and see the show so the hotel puts up some billboards and we fill the place up. It's really fun, I just don't do it as much anymore because I'm so busy."
3. On his act
"Basically it's like me telling stories, kind of like Jerry Seinfeld. I pick things in my life that happen and talk about them: talk about dating; talk about growing up; talk about going to concerts; just basically my stupid life; talk about celebrities, people that are driving me crazy lately in the news."
4. On a return to the big screen
Spade teamed with Chris Farley in "Tommy Boy" (1995) and starred in "Joe Dirt" (2001) and "Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star" (2003). He has teamed with writer Fred Wolf, who worked on those three movies, on a new script with Chris Rock.
It's "about a black family, a Mexican family and a white family that all go to the same campsite on the Fourth of July and it's triple-booked, so no one will leave and we have to have a contest to kick the other family out. It kind of has racial undertones, but it's just kind of a funny movie," Spade said. "I have known Chris Rock forever - from our 'Saturday Night Live' days - and it sounded like something fun we could do together."
5. On Wikipedia
The popular Web site encyclopedia put Spade and Brad Pitt in an elementary school class together.
"That is not accurate. That's from a joke I used to do in my act," Spade says. "I said my grandma wanted to have sex with him. I said my grandma would look at our class pictures and go, 'My, you're the cutest little boy. Oh my God, who's that guy? Why don't you ever play with him? Get him over here.' "
