John Katsilometes on the curious bookings being scheduled at the Revolution Lounge, including celebrity DJ Kevin Federline

Friday, March 2, 2007 | 7:09 a.m.

To quote from a far wiser man than I: "Get back, get back, back to where you once belonged."

We dig into the Beatles' vault in an attempt to inoculate ourselves from Kevin Federline's scheduled appearance Saturday as a celebrity DJ at Revolution Lounge at the Mirage. Federline's gig is part of the club's "Let It Be" series, and the former Mr. Spears will be manning the turntables for a night of hip-hop and R&B samplings.

Help!

Revolution opened in December as a Beatles-themed ultralounge and is the first nightclub created by Cirque du Soleil. The place is indeed fairly trippy, in keeping with its intended theme, but often the guest DJ bookings have nothing to do with the Beatles or their music - 50 Cent was brought in during NBA All-Star weekend. Beginning tonight, the club has booked the house-filling DJ Sizzahandz for each Friday in March. On Sunday, Tommy Lee and DJ Aero host "Hacienda Sunday."

Club representatives refuse to comment on bookings, but the philosophy at Revolution is to showcase all varieties of music.

We like the Beatles, if it's not too much trouble.

Orchestral maneuvers: The reason public classical music station KCNV 89.7-FM went off the air for more than a day this week should be familiar to any homeowner. A circuit breaker tripped and shut down all of the station's equipment, station director of broadcast operations Phil Burger said Thursday. The signal went down at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, and soon after the signal was lost, Burger and KCNV and KNPR 88.9-FM engineer Warren Brown attempted to reach the KCNV transmitter on Mount Potosi. Icy roads at 7,500 feet prevented access, so Brown and Dennis Todd (who for years has built and repaired transmitter towers in Southern Nevada) took to the road Thursday with a heavy-duty pickup truck fitted with tire chains and were finally able to reach the tower and restore the signal about 12:30 p.m. A side note: During the PEPCON rocket fuel plant explosion that killed two of the company's employees in Henderson in May 1988, Todd was performing repair work on Black Mountain. Upon seeing the initial fire at the plant, he pulled out a video camera and recorded the footage played repeatedly on news broadcasts around the country. It is Todd's voice that intones, "Oh my God, that's going to be loud!" ...

In the mix: Spotted Tuesday night at the reception for Joe Piscopo's media night at the Las Vegas Hilton were the husband-and-wife team of Artie Schroeck and Linda November. Schroeck is a member of Piscopo's backup band, playing the vibes, and November is the first lady of commercial jingles. She estimates she has recorded more than 2,000 over the years, including the tune for the commercial where Mean Joe Greene throws back a bottle of Coke and tosses his soiled Pittsburgh Steelers jersey to a young fan. November also sang the famous one-word jingle for Meow Mix and with hardly any prompting is happy to perform an a cappella rendition ...

Sideways: What does Dashboard Confessional have to do with a nice pinot noir? Nothing, except that the band is the featured entertainment at tonight's Rock 'n' Roll Wine event at Empire Ballroom. The acoustic performance, the first such showcase for the event since Everclear appeared over the summer, runs in tandem with a wine tasting featuring 15 wineries representing more than 50 varieties (hic!). Tickets are $44. Go to www.rocknrollwine.com ...

Column friend (and a friend in real life, come to think of it) Tricia McCrone has taken a position as vice president of development at Horse Head Entertainment, which owns the all-about-Vegas V.tv Web site and the Vegas Entertainment Network. McCrone is also famous as the former publicist and current sister-in-law of Flamingo headliner Wayne Newton (whose show is hot! Hot! I tell you) ...

On our menus: The crab special at Roberta's Steakhouse at El Cortez, served Fridays and Saturdays from 4 to 10 p.m., costs $22. That's about half the price of similar dishes served at high-end restaurants not located at El Cortez ...

Vegas moment: An impromptu (and illegal) drag race was held Wednesday at 9:45 p.m. at the corner of Martin Luther King and Charleston boulevards. The combatants were a late-model silver Trans Am and yellow 2006 or 2007 Corvette. The Trans Am was in the lead as they roared past Java Detour, and I would call that an upset ...

Spotted recently on the Strip, a gold 1969 Chevy Impala, all jacked up and rocking on pneumatic shocks, with the plate ICUNVME. The five passengers looked quite envious.
