It is that time of year again. A time when many lawyers and law firm partners get a little extra bounce in their step. No, it's not bonus time.
Chambers USA, an international law firm ranking service, just officially announced this year's top law firms and outstanding lawyers in six major practice areas. Most of Nevada's largest firms are at the top, joined this year by a few large national and regional law firms with offices in Las Vegas.
The Chambers USA rankings are based on interviews with lawyers and their clients who were asked to name the best firms and lawyers in their region. More weight is given to client interviews, but Chambers USA also takes submissions from law firms and does database research as part of the ranking. The final ranking is based on technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial astuteness, diligence, commitment, and other qualities most valued by the client. Law firms and individual attorneys are ranked in bands from 1-6, with 1 being the best.
